Job Description

Fairground Worker (Amusement Industry)

Position: Fairground Worker (Technical, Mechanical, Welder)
Location: Germany (various locations)
Employment Type: Open Employment
Start Date: By mutual agreement

About the Position

We are looking for motivated and reliable Fairground Worker to join our fairground operations across Germany. You will travel with the team to various festivals, fairs, and amusement events, assisting with the setup, operation, and dismantling of rides and attractions.

This is a physically demanding position that requires teamwork, flexibility, and the willingness to travel throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and dismantle amusement rides, attractions, and booths
  • Collect and verify admission tickets
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties around rides and work areas
  • Assist with basic maintenance and minor repair work
  • Ensure rides and surrounding areas remain clean, safe, and organized
  • Support the team during event setup and breakdown under time-sensitive conditions

Work Schedule

Employees work 6 days per week. Daily tasks vary depending on the event schedule.

Typical work activities include:

Setup Days

  • 08:00 – 12:00: Assembly and setup of rides
  • 10:00: Breakfast break
  • 12:00 – 13:00: Lunch break
  • 13:00 – 18:00: Continue setup work

The faster the team completes the setup, the more free time employees have afterward.

Operating Days

  • 10:00 – 12:00: Cleaning and preparation of attractions
  • 14:00 – 23:00: Ticket collection and customer assistance

Breakdown Days (usually Sundays)

  • Dismantling of rides and equipment after the event.
  • These days are physically demanding and involve working efficiently under time pressure to prepare for transport to the next location.

Candidate Requirements

  • Technical or mechanical background is an advantage
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Good English communication skills are mandatory
  • Basic German (minimum A2) is an advantage but not required
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry up to 40 kg
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work well in a team
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Germany during the season

Compensation & Benefits

  • Net salary: €2,200 per month
  • Accommodation provided free of charge
  • 24 days of paid annual leave
  • Up to 30 additional days of unpaid leave for employees who wish to return to their home country for 2 Months (January and February only) 

Off-Season (January & February)

During January and February, there are no traveling events.

Employees have two options:

  • Take up to additional one month of unpaid leave, or
  • Continue working by assisting with maintenance, repairs, and servicing of the amusement rides and equipment.
